Technical Education in India Made Easy for Diaspora Children

With the newly introduced scholarship programme by the ministry of overseas Indian affairs, Diaspora Children will find it easy to learn higher studies in prestigious Indian technical institutions.

The programme envisages to make India‘s highly developed higher education system available to children of the Indian Diaspora including Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Person of Indian Origin (PIOs).

The Educational Consultants India Limited (Ed.CIL), a government of India Enterprise, has been selected to take up the execution of the scholarship programme. The agency will offer all assistance required by Diaspora children before and after the admission. Moreover, each student given the admission under this scholarship programme will be entitled to financial assistance of $1,800 (Rs. 80,000).

The last date for submitting the applications is March 31, says a ministry press release, which further shed light on the advantages of the programme. The programme boasts of covering a wide range of subjects including the much preferred like engineering, humanities, commerce, management, journalism, hotel management and agriculture.

The programme is applicable for the students who want to pursue undergraduate studies in professional and general courses.
