Kochi hosts Kerala Property ExpoSaturday, August 04, 2007
Kochi will host the 3-day Kerala Property Expo from August 3, 2007 where participants would include local and pan-India real estate developers. The event will be inaugurated by S.K.Mitter, Director and Chief Executive of LIC Housing and Finance. Organized by the Kerala Builders Forum, over 40 builders from within and outside Kerala will showcase their projects, with an eye on the NRI market. Housing finance companies like LIC Housing, ICICI, HDFC, SBI and the State Bank of Travancore are also participating in the event, prepared with an on-the-spot loan sanction facility. LIC Housing and Finance, one of the main sponsors of the event, will introduce a special offer of a lower interest rate for customers during the show. The stringent floor area ratio norms in Kerala are affecting the number of projects coming up in the state, and as a consequence, property prices are being pushed up, keeping investors at bay. The property expo is an effort to check the trend, and bring back the NRI investors especially, who form a key component of real estate Kerala market.
