Tuesday, January 2, 2007: The Indian rupee hit a nine month high but gave up the gains. The Reserve Bank of India has come up with its study of budgets fiscal 2007 and has figured out a tremendous amount of improvement in the fiscal policies helping national deficit to get better. Talking about the fiscal 2006, ratio of gross fiscal deficit to gross domestic product slipped to 3.2% and ratio of revenue deficit to gross domestic product to 0.5%.

Chinese computer manufacturing company, Lenovo, hoped to expand into Indian market. This largest personal computer manufacturer in the People's Republic of China is all set to embark on its expansion drive by launching its first innovation center in the country to promote products in exclusive retail outlets.

The company that has succeeded to gain the most active stock turnover is Tech Mahindra, followed by the stocks of Indiabulls and Reliance Industries. Mahindra’s made a mark with the turnover of Rs. 319.20 crore.

The famous Hutchinson Essar is looking for a premium valuation. The Chinese multi-billionaire and the Chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited and Hutchison Whampoa Limited, Li Ka-shing holds 67% stake in the mobile phone company and is reported to expect valuation at eleven times sales. Mr. Shing is looking forward to a steep price of $21 billion for his 67% stake.
