With the launch of Sahara Care house,
Sahara declares its entry into the global services market for
Non resident Indians (NRIs). Currently, the business has 249 offices
spread across 179 Indian cities.
The house will serve as one stop shop for NRIs, catering to their
needs including services like medical cover, wedding planning,
bill payments, tax filing, sending gifts, etc. The company has
tied up with over 2000 hospitals in India to provide NRIs families
with appropriate medical care.
There are about 2.25 million overseas Indians contributing to
around 50 per cent of the total annual remittances of $25 billion
sent in the country. Of this, 70% is believed to be spent towards
family support and 9% in gifting. However, there are other things
to cater to satisfy emotional requirements of NRIs family except
gifting or depositing money, say Sahara Care House CEO Romi Dutta.
Sahara envisages establishing a bond with such families and offering
acre in absence of their adored ones. The house has employed a
local candidate in each city to abridge the communication gap.
