As promised during the 5th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January this year, a Facilitation Centre for NRI entrepreneurs is being set up in New Delhi on May 28.

The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation
of Indian Industry would participate in the establishment of
the centre. A University for NRI students is also under consideration,
as some State Governments have put forward their proposals.

Facilitation centres have already been set up by some state
governments to support NRIs in their investments in their home
states.

The Madhya Pradesh Facilitation Centre provides information
to NRIs about investment opportunities in MP and acts as a one-point
contact with the Government of MP.
Similarly, the International Punjabi Chamber for Service Industry
offers a single window to channelise NRI
Investments
from the
Punjabi diaspora.

This facilitation centre offer‘s NRIs a 24×7 service to exploit
the financial, scientific, technical and entrepreneurial resources
of NRIs for developing the tertiary sector and infrastructure
in Northern India .

The Non-Resident Oriya Facilitation Centre works in liaison
with the NRO cell of the Government of Orissa, while the Goa
Government set up an NRI Cell Facilitation in 2001 to address
the concerns of NRIs.
