Jay Goyal is Ohio’s Young Democrat of the Year, and a role model for "Ohio’s young people" according to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland. Appreciated for his commitment and dedication, this young NRI was honoured by the Democrats at a function held last week attended by senior officials of the party. At 27, Goyal is the youngest member of the Ohio General Assembly, and ran John Kerry’s campaign as County Director in 2004. Jay has already won the Richland County Democrat Award in 2005.Goyal is running for State Representative in the 73rd District. Jay is the son of entrepreneur turned industrialist Prakash Goyal, and the Vice-President of Goyal Industries in Richland County. As a loyal Democrat, his agenda includes access to health care, especially to children and senior citizens. Academic excellence in schools and higher education are high on his list of priorities. His political pursuits apart, Goyal is a key member of several American associations and committees. He is a member of the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance Association, the Rehabilitation Centre of North Ohio and the Richland County Citizens' Vision Board, amongst others. |
