Gujarat is all prepared to host the NRI global Business Meet in January. An umbrella organisation of the global Gujarati community has organised the International NRI Business Summit 2008.

The grand event is set to be schedules on January 12 in Ahmedabad. Seeing the rapid growth of trade and commercial activities in Gujarat, the western commercial hub of the country seems to be the right choice.

As per sources, the summit planned by Vishwa Gujarati Samaj, an umbrella organisation of the Gujaratis world over, is expected to bring many Gujarati business houses, entrepreneurs, business organisations and trade associations from around the world on one platform to discuss important issues related the commercial scenario in India in general and Gujarat in particular.

The meeting is open to non-Gujaratis as well. As per estimates, around 700 people will attend this summit, including officers, representative from various embassies and high commissions, experts, economists, leaders of companies, and media persons.

The broad themes of the summit are IT and Knowledge Management; Petroleum & Gas; and Infrastructure & Investment.

India features in the seven major emerging economies of the world; the country has the fastest growing free market democracy and representative of the emergent realities in business and industry.

Indian economy in the 21st century includes all the major factors contributing to rapid all round growth - the strength of intellectual inputs, the unbridled spirit of entrepreneurship, democratic set up, the synthesis of structure and non linearity and above all the quest for knowledge.

The greatest advantages of globalisation as well as implementation of business-friendly policies of the centre and the state government has made Gujarat an important business hub, attracting investors and business houses to establish their links in India as well as in Gujarat.
