Non Resident Indians News & Top Stories

As India secures a place of status amongst the global fraternity with its impeccable economic status and diplomatic strategies, the NRIs have also managed to secure a place of respect and position into the global platform. Earlier the NRIs who used to relocate outside India contemplating better opportunities in foreign land have started to repatriate to their motherland. And this phenomenon is mainly a result of the exceptional boom seen in the infrastructural and services sector in India.

As India makes a stride on the global platform with its landmark development in the real estate scenario, there has been seen a growing trend among the Indian Diaspora to invest for second homes in India apart from their present residing location. This dramatic growth in the number of NRIs accompanied by strengthening economic bonds with India and the rapid development back home has made many of them lead dual lives.

With increasing NRI population abroad and the growing bond of the NRI community worldwide, there has been a natural cultural transition which besides setting new trends, has set their plans and senses of identity and home. While noting that their affection for India has never flagged, some Indians say they now feel more proud of their heritage. More and more NRIs who planned to stay in countries like the United States for good have now started reconsidering.

And as India now is decked with Western-style shopping malls and gleaming outposts of US companies, a small but growing number of Indians -- particularly affluent technocrats are leading dual lives spending six months in US and six months in India. The old saying among the Indians that wealth makes the intercontinental lifestyle more common in this region, have changed as India now set in the new-age economic boom have made a sustainable impact inviting foreign investments in real estate as well as retail development.

These two sectors besides others have been one of the most influential factors for NRI leading dual lives rethink about returning to India.
